See the irony… Even though India is one of the largest exports of pharmaceutical products yet its own residents are suffering due to lack of proper medicines and healthcare. There are variety of reasons behind this. India still spends only around 2.5% of its national GDP on healthcare which is substantially less than developed countries like US which spends around 18% of its GDP on healthcare.

Around 70% of the rapidly ageing Indian population reside in rural areas that lack in basic infrastructure for healthcare. They have limited access to modern hospitals because the cost is unaffordable for them and often rely on alternate therapies. Though these alternate therapies are quite effective and have been in practice for ages yet in many cases these cannot substitute professional modern medical care and medicines which give instant relief.

ACT… bring the change

When a person is starving, hungry and ill, he cannot be taught the philosophies of religion of God. He needs food and medical assistance. Try to serve him… ‘Nar Seva Narayan Seva.’ This is the simple philosophy followed by disciples of Amarshradha Atambodh Ashram who regularly donate medicines or pay hospital bills of the needy not only during natural calamities but also during normal times.

Come… Join hands

A small group of thoughtful committed people can bring a great change. Only the will to give can bring the required change. ACT is trying to make this world a better place for all of us.
